doubt we'd be able to, but if one of us got the game list for the world cup could we put that up?

I'll speak with Maddog about it. I'm sure that we can sort something out. Probably only for the group stages though because who's playing who is already decided. It would be more difficult from then on in because knowing who's meeting who in the latter stages would be hard to keep up with for us.

I can't imagine the group stage matches will be hard to do though. I'll have to look at the schedual from then on in to see how viable doing the rest of the games will be.

Watch this space for further news.

Right then, I've now looked at the fixtures and I was correct. It really wouldn't be possible to run the pool beyond the group stage matches because there simply isn't enough time to get the pool up for picks. The group stage of the tournament finishes on the 23rd of June and the first games in the knock out stage start the following day on the 24th so there's really no way we could manage that.

As I said the group stage can be done though so let me know if there is the interest to play. If there is, and assuming Maddog doesn't mind putting the pool up, I'll sort it all out. I'm not going to bother though if there isn't the interest because frankly, it's going to be a big pool and I'm not doing all that work for nothing! hehehe.

So if there's any interest then shout up.

I'll play, only because I've got nothing better to do

That's a good enough reason for me Garet. I've spoken to MD about it now and we've decided just to go ahead with it anyway. We'll have the pool up for picks in the next few days hopefully to give people plenty of time to make their selections.

Enjoy.

Hey Garet, true they might not win the tournament but they're a pretty decent side and do have a chance of getting somewhere. Admittedly their chances would have been a hole lot better if it wasn't for the tough group they got drawn into but even so, don't write them off. Italy, the Czech Republic and Ghana are the sides they'll be meeting in the first phaise of matches. Of those sides the Ghanians are the only team you'd confidently predict a US victory from, but never say never.

ha, I wouldn't put money if they were facing a team literally with no living members

right all, the pool was up as of yesterday. You all can now submit your picks, and good luck to all of you who do! Let's see if we can make this the most popular pool we've had on the zone!
